How to increase your wealth (An Islamic Perspective)


Doing Istigfar “I [Prophet Noah] said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance‘And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.’ ” Surah Nuh Verse 10-12
Doing frequent Hajj & Umrah  Narrated Abdullah ibn Masood that the messenger of Allah said, ‘Frequently perform hajj and umrah for indeed they erase poverty and sins like the blacksmith’s fire erases the impurities from metal, gold and silver. And as for the hajj accepted by Allah (mabroor), its reward is nothing less than paradise. (Authentic – Tirmidhi & Nasaa’i)
Strengthening the ties of kinship ‘Whoever wishes that his provision be increased and that his life be blessed let him maintain the ties of kinship.’(Bukhari 5986 and Muslim 20)
Getting married  ‘And marry those among you who are single (male and female) and (also marry) the pious of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allah will enrich them out of His bounty. And Allah is all sufficient for his creatures’ needs, all knowing.” (surah noor, verse 32)
Giving charity Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah’s Messenger (SAW) as saying: “Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives, Allah adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).” (Muslim)‘Allah will destroy Riba and will give increase for Sadaqat. And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners. Truly, those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform the Salah and give Zakah, they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.’ (2:276-277)
Having taqwa  ‘…And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.’ Surah Talaaq (verse 2-3)

Doing shukr “If you give thanks, I will give you more; but if you are thankless, verily My Torment is indeed severe.” (Ibrahim 14: 7)
Constantly worshipping Allah Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allay says, ‘O son of Adam! take time out to constantly worship me, i will fill your chest with richness, and remove your poverty. And if you do not do so, i will make your hands filled with occupation, and will not remove your poverty.'” (Tirmidhi 2583)(striving to attain halal rizq is also worship in islamic terminologies)
Being Truthful O People who Believe! Fear Allah, and speak rightly. He will rectify your deeds for you and forgive you your sins; and whoever obeys Allah and His Noble Messenger, has indeed achieved a great success. (Surah Ahzab verse 70-71)
Emigrating for the sake of Allah  He who emigrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allah, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live by. And whosoever leaves his home as an emigrant unto Allah and His Messenger, and death overtakes him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allah. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (surah Nisa, verse 100)
Showing kindness to poor Prophet said, “Find me amongst your weak, because the only reason that you are provided sustenance and aided in victory is because of your weak.” (Reported by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad)
Striving hard to attain halal sustenance “And that man can have nothing but what he does (strives for).” (Surah Najm, verse 39)
Making dua for yourself  “And your Lord said:” Invoke Me, and ask me for anything, I will respond to your invocation. Verily! Those who scorn my worship(i.e. do not invoke Me) they will surely enter Hell in humiliation” (Ghafir:60)“Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the chastisement of the fire” [2:201]
Making dua for blessing in Rizq for someone else in their absence  The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم  said, “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Every time he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: `Ameen! May it be for you, too’.” [Muslim].
